Welcome to my site!
Is there any better way to create some accountability than to tell the world how much you weigh? I'm sure there is, it's late and I've had way too much coffee, but this is what I decided to do.
My health is something I took for granted. I never gave any thought to what I was eating or how much.....okay, or how little exercise I was getting. I had no intention of running a marathon or climbing Mt. McKinley. I thought I was fine. At 5 feet 4 inches tall and 216 pounds I was about 85 pounds overweight, but that didn't bother me enough to do something about it.
Until 2008, when I lost both of my parents to cancer within 6 months of each other.
Seeing my parents' health fail truly made me appreciate what I have. As awful of shape I was in, I knew I was fortunate to be able to do something about it. For the first time I took a good, hard look at what I was doing to my body and how it would affect the rest of my life. Since then I have made a lot of progress but I still have a long ways to go. I'm starting this site to help with that.
Feel free to look around, read my blog, laugh at my pictures (hey it's okay, I do). Let me know how you're doing and what you think, if you feel so inclined.
Take care!
